Keck Foundation Award

The Montpetit, Fraser, and Shah Labs are working together on a new Keck-funded research program to understand how Flaviviridae viral RNAs interact with the host.  They will use systems and synthetic biology techniques to identify interactions with the host and control viral RNA function during infection.  They will combine these data with innovative techniques to image single viral RNA molecules during infection to construct dynamic and cell specific systems-level interaction networks between vRNAs and host factors.  They expect these high-risk, high-reward endeavors will produce new paradigms and foster novel pan-Flaviviridae therapeutic opportunities.
